GP Question Time took place in Reading on 11 November, providing local people with an opportunity to speak with GPs about the healthcare issues that affect them. The event was organised by Clinical Commissioning Groups in Reading in response to feedback that suggested people value the opportunity to discuss local issues and a chance to share their ideas for service improvement.
A range of discussions took place around topics such as urgent care, mental health provision and how health staff and social care services work together to deliver services for their users. We will publish a report early in 2015 highlighting the key issues and themes emerging from the event, including a management response from the commissioning groups.
GP question time is one of many initiatives which bring local people, clinicians and commissioners together. To find out more or to participate in online surveys about the NHS and health care provision in your area, please register with the Berkshire Health Network.
