GP Clinical Lead
Dr Aparna Balaji did her M.B.B.S at the Madras Medical College in India, moving to the UK in 2005. She then completed her GP training in Somerset in the Severn Deanery in 2011, working there for a year before moving to Reading.
Aparna is a GP in South Reading , currently working at Melrose Surgery where she is also the safeguarding lead. Prior to that, she worked at the Reading Walk-in Centre, where she was the palliative care lead. Aparna has a special interest in women’s health and contraception and is involved in the redesign of the gynaecology pathway.
She is currently the South Reading CCG lead for urgent care and diabetes.
